dr. Jamel Ostwald's extremely active blog on military history currently features an interesting graph on sieges during the Flemish campaigns in the War of the Spanish Succession. Graphs and maps are somewhat underrepresented in my book (I focused on primary archival images and discourse), although they can be very useful -as in this case- to catch the essence of the situation in a glimpse. In this case, the poor quality of fortifications in Brabant and Flanders, outside Vauban's iron belt.
See as well his highly recommendable earlier book Vauban under Siege.
