I presented a paper on the Flemish conservative lawyer and activist Jan-Jozef Raepsaet, a major figure of the end of the Old Regime, the French revolutionary period and the United Kingdom of the Netherlands, at the occasion of the workshop From the People to the Public. The significance of public opinion, press and propaganda in 1750-1850, organised at the Dutch college in Leuven.

A revised version of my contribution appeared in the collective volume Reconsidering Constitutional Formation II: Decisive Constitutional Normativity. From Old Liberties to New Precedence (series Studies in the History of Law and Justice, Springer) in open access.
